Mr. Stuckey is a second generation forester, holds a BS degree in Forest Resource Management from Clemson University and is an active member of the Forestry Association of South Carolina.
Mr. Stuckey began his career with Federal Paper Board which was acquired by International Paper Company in 1996. During his tenure at IP, he was responsible for oversight of the company’s forest inventory and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) associated with 2.7 million acres of forest land from Virginia to Florida. Job responsibilities included harvest schedule and timber valuation modeling, which proved instrumental in the sale of IP's timberland. In 2001 Mr. Stuckey was promoted to Wood Procurement Manager responsible for purchasing all wood-based raw materials for IP's Georgetown, SC paper mill, valued at $75 million annually.
Mr. Stuckey left IP in 2004 and founded Forestry Services, LLC, a consulting firm which provided forest inventory and timber security services to industrial landowners throughout the Southeast. Clients included International Paper, Plum Creek Timber Company, Resource Management Services, MeadWestvaco, Coastal Timberlands Company, and Weyerhaeuser.
In 2006 Mr. Stuckey merged his consulting business with two other firms to form American Timberlands Company. ATC's mission was to identify and manage timberland investments which contained other attributes that could be monetized to achieve higher rates of return. As Chief Operating Officer he played a key role in growing the firm to over 30 employees while investing and managing over $200 million in assets across the Southeast. His duties included fund raising, identifying and selecting land investments, conducting due diligence, developing investment proformas, and executing management strategies to meet return objectives.
In 2018 Mr. Stuckey recognized the opportunity to leverage his 30 years of experience in forestry, land brokerage, aggregate mining, conservation, wetland mitigation, development, and recreation to form 3D Land Group, a land investment company.
